JOPHON Courses offer continuing education created from JOPHON, APHON’s acclaimed journal. These courses feature original, peer-reviewed research aimed at enhancing clinical nursing care for children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders, and their families.

This course explores the use of supportive skin care interventions for pediatric and young adult patients receiving MAPK inhibitors. Participants will examine barriers to providing non-prescribed skin care products and strategies for addressing these challenges. The course will compare the Children’s Dermatology Life Quality Index (CDLQI) and the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), with attention to selecting the appropriate assessment based on participant age and eligibility criteria. Participants will also review findings from a prospective study evaluating the use of supportive skin care kits in this patient population.
  • Identify barriers to providing patients with non-prescribed skin care products and develop strategies to effectively address and overcome these challenges.
  • Differentiate between the Children’s Dermatology Life Quality Index (CDLQI) and the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) and select the appropriate assessment tool based on participant age and eligibility criteria.
  • Evaluate the results of a prospective study assessing the use of supportive skin care kits in pediatric and young adult patients receiving MAPK inhibitors.
