JOPHON Courses offer continuing education created from JOPHON, APHON’s acclaimed journal. These courses feature original, peer-reviewed research aimed at enhancing clinical nursing care for children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders, and their families.

This course introduces evidence-based strategies to reduce central line–associated bloodstream infections in pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant units. Learners will compare standard prevention bundles with additional interventions, evaluate the effectiveness of safety huddles, and examine the impact of simulation training on nursing practice and patient safety. The course highlights practical solutions for overcoming implementation challenges and achieving measurable improvements in patient outcomes.

  • Differentiate between prevention bundle elements and additional evidence-based interventions to reduce non-MBI CLABSI rates.
  • Appraise strategies that enhance the effectiveness of proactive safety huddles in clinical settings.
  • Contrast traditional versus in situ simulation training approaches to determine their impact on nursing practice and patient safety
