JOPHON Courses offer continuing education created from JOPHON, APHON’s acclaimed journal. These courses feature original, peer-reviewed research aimed at enhancing clinical nursing care for children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders, and their families.

This course on health literacy is designed to enhance the understanding of healthcare professionals regarding the critical relationship between health literacy and the comprehension of key educational concepts among parents of children newly diagnosed with cancer. By the end of this module, learners will be able to describe how health literacy impacts parents' understanding of their child's diagnosis and treatment, as reported in the Keith et al. study. Additionally, the module will explore the correlation between preferred learning styles and health literacy levels, highlighting the challenges faced by parents with lower health literacy. This course aims to equip healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively communicate and educate parents, ensuring they are well-informed and capable of managing their child's care.
